The Art of Inspiration
Being a young entrepreneur, visioner and architect, Alina Rafalskaya has firmly immersed herself within the environs of the design world, absorbing new ideas like a hungry artist.
Her work is a product of constant inspiration, exploration of product design, interior and the fleeting nature of creativity — things she contemplates throughout her expressive journey.
Her vision is deeply stimulated by art, design, literature, people, music, and places. With spring’s arrival, she finds renewal in its soft light, organic forms, and outdoor vintage markets.
VINTAGE
I love vintage in its various forms: furniture, interior items, accessories. There is something special about nostalgia. You feel the story, an experience that has been imprinted in someone's vision. The most satisfying thing in discovering them is uniqueness. You most likely find rare pieces that are not produced anymore. And there is no better place to do it than vintage markets.
PEOPLE WHO CREATE
Finding people with similar visions is the most rewarding process. I feel inspired with their creativity which helps to evolve and grow me as an artist. I am mostly moved by people who merge art and design. One of the examples is Joel Escalona, Mexican designer specialized in contemporary furniture design, sculpture and interior design projects. I find his approach to form light, dynamic, and playful.
MUSEUMS and GALLERIES
I keenly amuse the atmosphere of museums and galleries where exquisite designer products are curated in well-rounded collections. Scandinavia has one of the best design scenes in the world and a lot to offer when it comes to finding inspiration. It’s yet another proof of the connection between art and design in one place.
Designmuseum Danmark. 
The Designmuseum Denmark is a museum in Copenhagen for Danish and international design and crafts. It features works of famous Danish designers.
Kistefos.
Kistefos is a feast for the eyes. It is a huge area with an Industrial Museum, two art galleries, and an impressive sculpture park with 55 sculptures in scenic surroundings. The star of this place is an art gallery The Twist, a bridge and a sculpture all in one, that has a cutting-edge design.
BOOKS
In the digital world everything could be deleted or easily lost but books stay resilient. Once printed they couldn’t be erased. I like books that uncover hidden gems of information that are hard to find.
ENTRANCES OF MILAN. INGRESSI DI MILANO
In this photo-collection, editor Karl Kolbitz curates 144 of the finest Milanese entrance halls from 1920 to 1970. The book features some of Milan’s most famous architects, from Gio Ponti to Piero Portaluppi, and showcases the city’s design DNA across high to low architecture.
Revolution: The History of Turntable Design
As a music enthusiast I must say this book is essential for audiophiles, collectors, and design fans. Revolution has the fascinating history of turntables and vinyl technology from the 1950s to today's progressive designs. Fun, educational and visually appealing — all in one.
MUSIC
Talking about music… This spring I fell for “Topaz” by Israel Nash. This album feels like stepping into a nostalgic, cinematic dream — a sense of wanderlust and reflection, like driving down a dusty highway at sunset with no destination in mind.
Lighting
Light is essential in every interior. Spring is the time when everything fills with more light, replacing the melancholy of winter days.
When it comes to lightning in interiors I like the touch of coziness. At my home I have a Dae Table Lamp by Ferm Living. I think its gentle, curved form and texture add a sense of warmth and softness.
